Description
Three tightly spiraled strands of small momi shells make up this Ni’ihau shell lei, strung in the pikake style in an uliuli gray coloring, the shells mottling gray and cream down the ropes. It measures approximately 38 inches in overall length, hanging to a drop of about 19 inches when worn, and it closes on a textured white cowrie shell. This lei was strung entirely by hand in Hawaii from shells gathered on Ni’ihau. The gray uliuli coloring runs the full length of all three cords.
This item was made in Hawaii, and is at least 80% Niihau shell. The actual percentage of Niihau shell in this item is 80%.
