Ni’ihau Shell Lei 3 Strand Kahelelani Multi-Color Kipona & Earrings Set 37 Inch

This three-strand Ni’ihau shell lei is strung in the Kipona style, mixing cream Momi shells with Kahelelani in pinks, tans, and browns, including runs of the hot-pink variety known as Kui Akala. The colors are worked in long sections, so the strands shift from ivory into rose and back along the length, and a bumpy Apu’upu’u cowrie shell closes the lei. It runs approximately 37 inches in overall length for a drop of about 18.5 inches, falling to the chest when worn, and the matching shell drop earrings hang close to 3 inches in length from French hooks. This lei was strung entirely by hand in Hawaii from shells gathered on Ni’ihau.
