Description
Strung shell by shell into a single spiraling Pikake rope, this Ni’ihau shell lei runs approximately 62 inches in length. The shells are Momi, the dove shell variety, in soft Lenalena cream, and a smooth Elelu cowrie in light gold joins the ends, measuring close to 22 by 11 millimeters. The open length wraps easily into a doubled or tripled strand. This lei was strung entirely by hand in Hawaii from shells gathered on Ni’ihau.
