Description
Tiny kahelelani turban shells in alternating akala pink and oma’oma’o green spiral around this Ni’ihau shell lei, strung poepoe into a full rounded rope approximately 21 inches in length. The two colors wind along the rope in an even, repeating pattern, and each end finishes in a white apu’upu’u cowrie shell serving as the poleholeho, closing over a concealed hook and eye. Kahelelani are the smallest of the Ni’ihau lei shells and the hardest to gather, pierce, and string.
