Description
Momi dove shells in lenalena, a soft yellow-tinged white, string this three-strand Ni’ihau shell lei in the pikake style. The strands run approximately 42 inches in length and hang at a 21-inch drop when worn. Their ends gather at a poleholeho closure of the bumpy ‘apu’upu’u cowrie variety, close to 22mm by 15mm in size. This lei was strung entirely by hand in Hawaii from shells gathered on Ni’ihau.
This item was made in Hawaii, and is at least 80% Niihau shell. The actual percentage of Niihau shell in this item is 100%.
