This policy explains what personal information Hawaii Estate & Jewelry Buyers LLC collects, how we use it and the choices you have. It covers hawaiijewelrybuyers.com (hiejb.com), diamondguyhawaii.com and our communications with you by phone, email and text. We also do business as Diamond Guy Hawaii. If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
What we collect
Orders and inquiries. Your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, the pieces you order, your appointment details and your messages to us.
Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe, which collects your card or bank details directly under its own privacy policy at https://stripe.com/privacy. We receive the card type, last four digits, billing details and payment status. We never see or store your full card number. If you choose financing at checkout, the financing provider collects what it needs under its own policy.
Accounts and newsletters. Your login details and order history if you create an account, and your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter.
Selling inquiries. Descriptions and photographs of items you ask us to buy or consign. When we buy an item, we record the details Hawaii’s secondhand dealer law requires: your name, address, date of birth, government photo identification number, photograph and signature, with a description and photographs of the item.
Identity and claim checks. To verify orders, investigate shipping or return claims and prevent fraud, we may collect government photo identification details at pickup or for higher-value orders, delivery signatures, and the photographs and videos you send us about a shipment or return.
Website data. Pages visited, IP address, browser and device information, and referring site, collected through cookies as described below.
How we use it
Orders and service. To process orders, payments, shipping, returns and refunds, to schedule appointments and answer inquiries, and to send order confirmations, receipts, invoices, appointment reminders and service messages by email or text.
Fraud prevention. To verify identity and payment details and to investigate claims, including additional checks on higher-value orders.
Marketing. To send marketing emails if you subscribe.
Legal and operations. To meet legal, tax and record-keeping obligations and to understand how our sites are used.
Text messages. If you give us your mobile number, we may text you about your order, invoice or appointment. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. We do not send marketing texts without your separate consent.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed to run the business: with Stripe to process payments and screen for fraud; with FedEx and our shipping insurer to deliver and insure shipments; with financing providers you choose at checkout; with Google for calendar scheduling and analytics; with the email service we use to send messages you have requested; with our website host and the providers that maintain our systems; and with professional advisers, law enforcement or regulators when the law requires it. We do not sell personal information.
Cookies and analytics
Our sites use essential cookies to run the shopping cart and checkout, and Google Analytics to measure site traffic. Embedded Instagram feeds and Google and Yelp review widgets may set their own cookies under those companies’ policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Google’s analytics opt-out is at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Our sites do not respond to browser Do Not Track signals. Google Analytics may collect information about your activity across other sites over time under Google’s policies.
HIEJB CRM and Google data
HIEJB CRM is our internal customer relationship management tool. With permission, it accesses and stores calendar information, including appointment details and contact information, to manage appointments, customer history and follow-ups, and to create, update or cancel calendar events. Data is stored on access-controlled business systems and shared only as needed to operate these features or comply with law. It is not sold or used for advertising. You can revoke HIEJB CRM’s access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account settings; to request deletion of information already stored in HIEJB CRM, email info@hiejb.com. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements: https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy
How long we keep it
Order, payment and transaction records are kept as long as tax and business law require, generally 7 years. Records of jewelry we buy are kept for the period Hawaii law requires. Appointment and customer-history records are kept as business history. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe. Website analytics data follows the provider’s default retention.
Your choices and security
Email info@hiejb.com to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it or to ask us to delete it. We honor these requests where the law permits, except for records we are required to keep. Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any message, and from texts by replying STOP.
We keep personal information on access-controlled systems, encrypt data in transit and never store full card numbers. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we protect your information with reasonable safeguards. Our sites are for adults; you must be 18 or older to purchase.
