Description
Carved green jade forms this Chinese brush washer, a shallow bowl with softly lobed sides that curl in at the rim in a leaf form. The stone runs a yellow green and turns translucent where the walls thin, with incised scrolling vines trailing over the sides and a small carved lobe standing at each end. It measures approximately 7cm across, a desk object made to hold water for rinsing ink brushes.
