Pure white laiki shells make up all five strands of this Ni’ihau shell lei, each tiny rice shell strung end to end in the straight pololei style. The strands gather at a bumpy apu’upu’u cowry connector, approximately 26mm by 19mm, and a single cowry shell serves as the closure in place of a metal clasp. The lei runs about 35 inches in length, an easy over-the-head fit.
