Description
Three strands of Ni’ihau shells make up this Kipona style lei, Momi and Kahelelani shells strung in banded runs of white, red, pink, gold, and brown. The color pattern shifts along the strands, which measure approximately 33 inches in length, with a cowrie shell capping each end where the three strands gather. It puts five colors of shell into a single lei. This lei was strung entirely by hand in Hawaii from shells gathered on Ni’ihau.
This item was made in Hawaii, and is at least 80% Niihau shell. The actual percentage of Niihau shell in this item is 80%.
