Description
Expertly strung with broad sections of cream and dark brown, this Ni'ihau Shell Lei is one of a kind.
Strung in the Pikake style, each layer of shells interlaces seamlessly with the next.
The shells are of the 'Ålīlea (large dove shell with clean white color and golden spots) and Pōleho (dark brown cone) varieties. Each end of the strand is connected together by a 33mmX22mm Pōleholeho (decorative shell used to conceal string ends) of the "night cowrie" variety.
This lei measures approximately 43 inches in length, creating a 21.5 inch 'drop length' when worn.
This item was made in Hawaii, and is at least 80% Ni'ihau shell. The actual percentage of Ni'ihau shell in this item is 100%.
