Description
Rolex’s yellow gold shell wraps the steel case of this Oyster Perpetual Date wristwatch, reference 1550, with a smooth bezel, a stainless steel caseback, and a case of approximately 33mm. The champagne dial holds a framed date window under an acrylic crystal, with a self-winding automatic movement inside, and the watch wears on an Oyster bracelet. It comes with its Rolex box, manual, and hang tags. Gold shell was Rolex’s own process for capping a steel case in a thick layer of yellow gold, a process the company has since retired.
