Description
Worked on both faces, this antique Chinese mutton fat jade plaque pendant is a slim tablet of creamy white nephrite, close to 42 by 25 millimeters across, 6 millimeters thick, and 19.6 grams. Each face centers a recessed rectangular panel of carved Chinese characters inside a border of scrolling motifs. Two drilled holes at the top and bottom edges let it thread onto a chain, cord, or ribbon for pendant wear.
