Antique Hunter’s Case Elgin 14K Yellow Gold Pocket Watch w/ Paper Appraisal

Description

An Elgin hunter’s case pocket watch in 14K yellow gold, circa 1911. The fancy porcelain dial is the draw: black Roman numerals around an outer sixty-minute track, gold filigree hands, and applied gold ornament in rings, dots, stars and fleur-de-lis, with a subsidiary seconds dial at six o’clock.

The covers are finely engine-turned with a reeded rim, opened by an onion-style crown and a hinged D-shaped bow. Inside is a 15-jewel Elgin National Watch Co. movement with a nickel-plated rainbow damascene finish. The case measures approximately 49.5mm across and the watch weighs approximately 95.34 grams. It is accompanied by a 2017 gemologist’s appraisal.
