Description
This rebuilt ruby and diamond ring in 18K white gold makes a striking display of purplish red color amid sweeping rows of baguette diamonds. The cushion-shaped ruby sits above a broad arrangement of straight-edged stones, whose changing angles give the ring an appealing sense of movement.
GIA examined the natural ruby loose and recorded its weight as 2.23 carats, with measurements of approximately 8.7 x 6.2 x 3.9 mm. GIA gives an origin opinion of Thailand and reports that the ruby is heated, with minor residues and moderate residues in cavities. A diagonal fracture across the ruby is documented in a 2017 appraisal.
The raised center and open spaces beneath the diamonds give depth to the design, while the broad white gold shoulders continue the flowing arrangement around the ruby.
