Description
Mutton fat jade, carved in the wide cylindrical form of a Chinese archer’s thumb ring, gives this ring its even creamy white color under a soft polish. The exterior is carved with the Longevity character, a symbol of long life, among surrounding motifs. The piece carries a Qing-era dating and comes from the collection of a known Hawaii-based antique collector, held in private hands since 1930. It measures approximately 30mm in diameter and 26mm in width, weighing 33.4 grams in a ring size 9.75.
