Description
Cut to a point at each end, the marquise cabochon of mottled red and white jade on this signed Ming’s ring runs approximately 22 by 10mm along the finger, held at its tips by chevron prongs over an openwork navette mount in 14K yellow gold. Small scrolled clusters flank the shoulders where the mount meets the grooved shank, which is stamped 14K, and the ring is a size 7. It wears as a long line of jade down the finger, the openwork mount keeping the profile light. Ming’s was the Honolulu jewelry house famous for its carved jade and Asian-influenced design, and it has been closed for decades. A signed Ming’s piece cannot be reissued.
