Description

Carved in openwork cut fully through the stone, the antique pale jade plaque at the heart of this necklace shows a bird worked amid scrolling foliage. A yellow gold crescent mount with a Greek-key border holds the plaque’s lower edge and drops three chain tassels beneath it, and the pendant hangs from a rope chain strung with white jade beads and brushed gold beads, the whole necklace weighing approximately 107.3 grams. Documented at more than a century old, it comes with its 1972 certificate of identity.
