Description
An Art Deco bracelet in platinum, circa the 1930s, built as a straight line of rectangular panels, three square synthetic sapphires channel set in one and three old European cut diamonds bead set in the next, every panel edged in milgrain. The six diamonds are natural, totaling approximately 0.54 carats at G-H color and VS2 clarity, and the nine flame fusion sapphires total 1.44 carats in a dark violetish blue that reads nearly black until light moves across it, the calibrated synthetic material Deco workshops used routinely. The links between the stone panels are engraved with flowers across their tops and chevrons down their sides, and the bracelet closes with a tongue clasp and a safety catch. It runs close to 6.5 inches in length and weighs approximately 14.4 grams. The platinum is unstamped and tested, and a recent gemologist appraisal is included.
