Antique American Waltham Yellow Gold Hunter’s Case 18K Yellow Gold Pocket Watch

Description

An American Waltham hunter’s case pocket watch in 18K yellow gold, circa 1918. Both covers are engine-turned with a fluted coin edge, and a vacant shield at the center of the front cover was left open for a monogram. Behind the lid, the original white porcelain dial carries black Arabic numerals, blued steel spade hands, and a subsidiary seconds dial at six o’clock.

The 15-jewel manual-winding movement sits in a case signed ROY 18k, measuring approximately 46mm across. It hangs from an 18K curb link chain of approximately 22 inches, carrying a bezel-set 1913 Indian Head two-and-a-half dollar gold coin. Watch and chain together weigh approximately 106.06 grams. It comes with its original Waltham presentation box and a 2017 gemologist’s appraisal.
